Melanie Young Director of the Criminal Litigation Field Clinic Contact Office: Email: melanie.p.edelman@drexel.edu Phone: Administrative Support: Biography Ms. Young has represented clients in hundreds of criminal hearings, covering all aspects of a criminal case, beginning at preliminary arraignment through sentencing and post sentencing motions. She has practiced in many units within her office, including, but not limited to: municipal court, juvenile, felony waiver, alternative sentencing, and major jury trials. Ms. Young joined the Defender Association right out of law school, after completing both her 2L summer internship and 3L clinic at the Defender’s. She received her JD from the Thomas R. Kline School of Law at Drexel University Law in 2015, where she served on the executive board of the Student Bar Association and was a Dean’s Scholar. She graduated with a degree in sociology from The Pennsylvania State University in 2009 and worked at a local non-profit hunger relief agency in between college and law school.
